Townhouse crackers

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I have been eating townhouse crackers since 1969 .i love them with chili, with toppings as a treat , crushed on top and bottom of casseroles . In desserts.

But for the last year i have bought them and they crumble everytime. No longer can i top them with anything. Every packages simply crumbles in my hand. Now they aren't a staple snack in my home .

Its something that I miss and have to ask why this has happened. Why change the recipe?

Very disappointed and i guess Ritz will be my next cracker purchase. The holidays are coming soon and i need a staple back in my snack recipes again.

I'm switching to Ritz also.

Ya.. what the heck?

Can't even get the cracker out of the wrapper, it is in crumbs. And seriously where is the flavor?

Not buying these anymore. So sad it was my favorite for years.

Same here.

We have had the same issue, it started last October for us, we waited patiently as we tried another 6 boxes, with the same result. So, thanks for sharing, we thought it was just us, obviously not. Looks like Ritz will get us a customers as well

Guest

They practically turned to sawdust when you open the package

I totally agree. It is very annoying to try to eat something on top of a cracker that simply falls apart. It wasn’t always like this.

Guest

I find the same thing won’t buy Town House again it’s Ritz from now on

I take it that they've changed the way they make the Town House Crackers (and other Keebler products as well). They are lighter in color and don't taste the same (and not for the better).

At first I thought it was a bad batch, but recently just purchased my third box for myself this year (not including the ones my wife purchased), and they're all the same. We use to love them, but at this time with my third time buying them and being yet another strike against them, they're out. My wife and kids agree.

We've noticed a change in other Keebler products as well. Sorry, but it looks like Keebler management made a change for the worse, and will now lose my family as consumers.

I hate how 1 sleeve in a box will be salty then the rest are just plain crackers, little to no salt

Guest

All their style of crackers are horrible. I guess I will start making my own. It is not difficult

Town House! Product failing!

Town House crackers! Something has changed. Very thin and cannot be dipped anymore to uphold “the ole” cracker strenght. Crackers are ALWAYS broke in packages... You are all I used to buy- now I changed to Ritz.... a lot of talk bout your cracker at my get together s. Please come back !!! Be that strong cracker we once remember and was able to top with anything .

i love your crackers but they are made so light now they fall apart before you get out of box. i can't put dips or anything on them now because they fall apart before you get them out of packages.

What happened

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
These used to be great! Buttery and even had a slightly greasy coating. Now they're dry and flavorless. I thought I got a bad batch. Based on the other reviews here, they've changed their recipe. go back to the original recipe Keebler!!!!

Ruined get together

Every Thanksgiving I put out cheese and crackers but this year every sleeve was nothing but crumbs. Every one was very disappointed. I hesitate to ever buy another box if this is what your selling now. This has happened in the past also. I am hoping you step up your quality control. I'm sure I am not the only one this has happened to. I should be reimbursed or offered a replacement box. I ended up paying good money for a box of crumbs. IF I ever buy your product again I will be opening the box in the store to see if I'm buying another box of disappointment. I recommend your customers do the same. I do enjoy your Town House crackers when you do them right.

Crackers are crumbs

A year ago decided to try the Keebler Town House Original crackers. They were buttery, browned & very crispy. I continued to purchase them every week until about 5 months ago because when I opened the boxes they were not brown & most of them broken. When I opened the package they just turned into crumbs. How are you to spread anything on them? Very disappointing! Since I really enjoyed the taste from the first purchase I decided to buy them again thinking the baker must have not completed the baking process. I kept buying them over 5 months thinking they would eventually be like they were over a year ago. I finally got so mad I am done. Don't waste your money buying soft crumbs.

Townhouse crackers crumble

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Townhouse crackers have been my favorites for decades. No more! Every sleeve has roughly 1/4 of the crackers broken. Nothing can be spread on the cracker without it breaking into several pieces or simply disintegrating. Looking for a different cracker—some other brand. Sad

Zesta On Clearance

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
For about the last 6-8 months I have had to really search for Zesta Saltines Originals, in Walmart Neighborhood Grocery. I was told they were having a hard time getting them. Fast forward to a few days ago, they have a huge display of Zesta Originals, which were listed on the receipt “reduced to clear” from $2.58 to $1.88. They are not the same crackers I’ve been buying for 40+ years; no crispy edges and hardly any salt. Next we’ll see them in Dollar Tree. What happened, Keebler? Why can’t we have the crackers we used to buy as our favorites?

I received an online order for Zesta whole wheat crackers today because no stores are stocking them. When I opened a package they appeared to be a much lighter color.

The others were nice and brown. They don't taste quite the same either.

Has the recipe changed ? The Original Zestas stopped being good several years ago.

Sunshine raisin cookies.

Any one who has eaten these cookies remembers them.. Since Keeble bought out Sunshine... you at least have a recipe. YES? They were fabulous. Not too sweet... *** me with the sugar put in cookies today... Sugar is NOT flavor.) And with flavor missing in most cookies... come on guys... Make these again. They were thin and wafer like with raisins. Great lunch box cookies. We are all going for less garbage (sugar etc.) and more flavor and healthier... That is what we want for our kids. SOOOO..... So when you trashed this recipe, maybe it did not matter... RETHINK, REDO.... now it matters. Cookies today are nothing but sugar....I cannot remember when I bought Keebler cookies. OH yes.. I did. But the Pecan Sandies are not the original recipe either... NO buttery flavor... just bland bla cookie. So something is missing... Yeah butter. They were not overly sweet... And they did have nuts you could see. Put out the original recipe and charge more. It is not rocket science. Today the bakery cookies are also garbage. Even paying $5 a box for huge cookies.. does not work. Guess they think a bigger cookie means better... NO! You have work to do... Make a good cookie... charge a bit more.. get creative. Make a great cookie. Have a contest.... advertise and make it a competition. Put out a new cookie every year or so. Then send me the first batch. LOL. It is possible. And remake the raisin cookies and advertise low sugar... they will go. Not everyone wants sugar anymore... the world is already full of too many diabetics. Helene Porath
